Major Cold Outbreak Expected In Early November

Models are starting to converge on a major cold outbreak in early November, but snow chances next weekend are much lower than originally thought. Remember, models are not representative of what will happen, only what is possible. It takes forecasters like us to interpret this data and make a forecast.

(850 temperature anomalies next weekend)

We should start to feel changes by later this coming week / next weekend.

(Euro projected temperatures next Saturday afternoon, temperatures may be a bit warmer than this model shows) (Projected temperature anomalies next Saturday afternoon from the euro model, -30.9 degrees below average temperature in the Smokies)

Now let\’s talk about the possible snow we mentioned earlier, models have done a 180 degree turn around, so there well likely be NO snow next weekend (other than a slight chance of a few mountain snow flurries). Not surprised as models are not always accurate a week out.

(12z euro snowfall for later this coming week / next weekend, OLD MODEL DATA, LATEST DATA SHOWS NO SNOW)
